Welcome to 2 Left Feet! Thank you for
the opportunity to describe my passion for teaching and performing
dance. This passion began at age 12 in a small Irish town where I grew
up. It started in high school with choreographing dances for the talent
show, then at age 16, opening a small dance studio
behind the bar I worked in and teaching dance routines to children and
adults. I was then hired as a local choreographer for various musical
theater shows and the future was set! In London in '87, I answered an
ad for a dance instructor at a ballroom studio. That was all I needed to
begin a career in dancing! 24 years later and I love it more than
ever. I've had wonderful training from some very talented people in the
business. I have competed, performed, trained other instructors,managed
studios, organized events, choreographed shows and now run my own
business called '2 Left Feet'
My passions are honed into 2 areas. Teaching beginners, as I never lose
the thrill of bringing the joy of dance to those who have not yet
experienced it, and choreographing shows. Learning to perform in front
of others stretches us in ways we cannot even imagine. It increases
self-confidence, helps us to be more expressive and challenges us on
many levels. I have used performing
all my life to release insecurities and gain a better sense of self.
The joy of bringing that to others is why I do what I do.
